What a year. This year, I feel like I share some things with our QB1. Yes, of course, we both have thrown for at least 2,700 plus yards and rushed for over 500 (let’s hope that increases a ton today) in a season, we both have innate quickness and a strong spin move…but aside from those and many more athletic traits, I felt like this tailgate year I was scattered at times, maybe overthrew a few details, emails done a bit late…rushing into the truck to head down to E1, or having our usual spot get taken two weeks ago.

Just like my season, last week against UCLA it seemed a bit rocky, but the Dawgs came together and UCLA tried too many terrible fake FGs and we pulled it off. This year with our last regular season game in front of us, we finished 5th in the Big in total offense, and 6th in points allowed and yards allowed per game. Now, Oregon outranks us in both of those stats, and it is going to take a heck of a game at home to beat these losers. But, we can make it happen.

This will be the 118th meeting between these teams that first played in 1900. We lead the series 63-49 and 5 ties and in Seattle we are 33-23 and 4, Oregon has won 21 of the last 30, but UW has won 5 of the last 9 and 3 of the last 4 games, twice in one season, never forget!

The University of Oregon was founded in 1872. They have around 23,000 total students as of 2024. How do they get these people to go to (the other Emerald City) Eugene? As of 2022, 16.5% of Oregon’s gross square footage is built for athletics mostly by Uncle Phil, if athletes at Oregon could understand fractions that is almost â…• of their campus.

Some notable alumni and attendees include Terrence Chang, a producer of the movie Face Off . I was going to attempt to make an extended Dan Lanning face off joke and I got trapped reading the Wikipedia for Face Off and left it more confused than when I started.

PGA Golfer Wyndham Clark, I say we treat Oregon how he treated the lockers at the US Open this past year.

Also, sadly, in preparing this email, I learned last night that Taco Time was founded in Eugene in January of 1960. This makes it tough to enjoy a crisp burrito. However, the first franchise was located in White Center, WA. I guess that is redemption. Though tater fries will also be mexi-fries to me.
​
Thanks to all of you and a big shout out to the east compound, the tailgate season and football season was a success. Having those guys from Sweden crash (or krsascha) the tailgate against Purdue put everything in perspective. Why do we do this every year? To celebrate the Dawgs and welcome people to do the same, with the exception of Ducks, okay maybe a few Ducks, but very few…you know who you are.

We may not be able to knock them out of the playoff, but we’ve got one heck of a chance to give the Ducks their second loss of the season and make them just keep thinking twice about Dan Lanning. Let’s do what Iowa couldn’t and take away their CFP bye week, remember it was a bit unfair they had that rest week last year anyways!
